Job summary

Southeast Community College in Lincoln invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor, Surgical Technology - PTT (2026-2027). The role supports instruction across classroom, lab, online and clinical settings, within a pooled adjunct posting for 2026–2027.

It is a part-time, temporary position with flexible assignment based on department needs. Responsibilities include delivering course content, developing syllabi, and potentially coordinating multiple courses.

Qualifications

• Ability to teach Surgical Technology courses in diverse settings (classroom, online, lab, clinical).
• Experience with engaged learning strategies and varied instructional methods.
• Maintain health requirements for clinical sites.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students according to course objectives in multiple delivery formats.
• Develops and implements syllabi aligned with program curriculum and SCC policies.
• May coordinate a group of courses or lead instructor for a course.

position Information Position Title Adjunct Instructor, Surgical Technology - PTT (2026-2027) Department Surgical Technology Location Lincoln Job Category Faculty Job Type Part-Time Regular Posting Number 02262 Position End Date Position Summary Information General Description of Position Under the general direction and supervision of the Dean and the Program Chair, the Adjunct Instructor will provide instruction to students in various courses, which could include classroom (face-to-face or online), laboratory, and/or clinical settings. This is a part-time temporary position and is part of a pooled adjunct faculty posting for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Essential Functions

• Provide instruction to students according to the objectives of each assigned course.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies in the classroom, online, hybrid, or lab setting that are appropriate to individual student needs and may include, but are not limited to, lectures, small groups, demonstrations, and computer-assisted instruction.
• May serve as a coordinator for a group of courses or be the lead instructor for a course or courses within the program.
• Develops and implements the course syllabus according to the program curriculum plan and SCC policies in cooperation with other faculty.

Marginal Functions

• May be required to perform associated duties, functions, or assignments in other divisions/programs/areas as required.

• Must be able to work varied days, hours, shifts, locations, and campuses as required. Work schedules (hours/days/work location) are scheduled by Southeast Community College based on the needs of the College. Work hours, shifts, days, and work locations may vary depending on the needs of Southeast Community College and are subject to modification. Emergency or scheduled special activities may require hours outside of the regular workweek.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Current knowledge of and ability/skill to teach Surgical Technology courses.
• Ability/skill to develop and incorporate a variety of engaged learning teaching strategies and techniques in the classroom and in online courses.
• Ability/skill to relate to colleagues, staff, students, and supervisors of diverse backgrounds in a positive and cooperative manner.
• Ability to devise and utilize appropriate evaluation methods for classroom use.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, and on the phone.
• Ability to use basic computer skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds for short distances and move tables, chairs, and media equipment when necessary.
• The individual must possess the above skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology from a CAAHEP -accredited program.
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Two (2) years of surgical scrubbing experience in the last five (5) years.
• Current member of the Association of Surgical Technologists.
• Maintains health requirements for clinical sites.
• Certified in CPR .

Desired Qualifications

• Associate degree in Surgical Technology from a
• CAAHEP -accredited program with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Allied Health, or Education.
• Currently certified as a Surgical First Assistant ( CSFA ).
• Teaching experience in post-secondary education.
