Position Description:

The Department of Math and Physics invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach General Physics 2 this upcoming Spring semester 2026. A course description can be found below.

This course runs January 13th to April 28th, 2027. Duties include delivering lectures in a classroom setting, administering exams, and grading students’ assignments.

PHY2202 – General Physics 2: This course is the second semester of a one-year introduction to physics, without calculus (with PHY 2201 ). Topics normally include oscillations, electric charge, electric fields and forces, electric potential and potential energy, electric current, DC circuits, magnetism, Faraday’s Law, and geometric optics.

Qualifications:

The candidates should meet the following qualifications:

• Hold at least a MS in Physics, Mathematics or a related field.
• College-level teaching and experience utilizing learning management systems (i.e.- Canvas) and technology in the classroom is highly desirable.

Compensation

Minimum: $5,000 per 4-credit course

The actual pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate qualifications and prior experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.
