Job summary

Lone Star College is seeking a CE Adjunct faculty member to provide teaching and learning activities that support the educational environment of Lone Star College. Primary responsibilities include planning, developing, and teaching courses within the curriculum to facilitate student learning.

Essential duties include teaching Architectural Engineering Technology – AutoCAD & Drafting courses at varied times and locations, creating engaging lessons, and advising students.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of documented experience working or teaching in a related field.
  • License or appropriate teaching certifications required when teaching courses regulated by a licensing body or certifying authority.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Architectural Engineering Technology – AutoCAD & Drafting courses at varied times and locations.
  • Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
  • Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
  • Utilize a course syllabus for each class, following established institutional guidelines.
  • Meet with and advise students before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
  • Evaluate students to measure progress toward course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
  • Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.

Job Description

  • Working knowledge of AISC, AISI, CRSI, and ACI.
Physical Abilities

The work is predominantly sedentary with occasional light walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers or small parts, or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Schedule & Conditions
  • Equipment: PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and general office equipment.
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position.
  • Work performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
  • Hours will vary depending on class time; instructors are required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction.
Required Qualifications

Salary

$55.44 per contact hour.
