Job summary

Weatherford College is seeking an Adjunct (general education) to join the part-time faculty pool for general education courses. The position is a continuous recruitment, with selection from the pool as needs arise for the academic year.

Primary duties include teaching courses, mentoring students, and facilitating learning across face-to-face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit modalities. Applicants must meet the education requirements listed, and transcripts or licenses should be submitted.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and/or 2–5 years work experience in the field of study.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or 6–10 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
• Master’s degree and/or 11–15 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
• Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.

• At least 3 years experience in the communications field or 3 years teaching experience.

• Attend adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses on departmental and institutional levels, and perform related duties as assigned.
• Maintain ethical and professional behavior; be available to students by appointment.
• All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.

Part‑time Faculty – Adjunct faculty position in general education, continuous recruitment.

Position Summary

Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as‑needed basis. Primary duties of adjunct faculty include:

• Teaching courses in the approved discipline.
• Providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses.
• Mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom.
• Creating and maintaining an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit instruction).
• Ensuring all faculty members maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.

Required Education
