University of North Texas invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor in Linguistics to teach undergraduate courses in introductory and general linguistics. UNT Linguistics introduces its undergraduate students to the core areas and methodologies of Linguistics, including phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics, as well as specialized areas such as computational linguistics, historical linguistics, language documentation, language variation, language and law, politics of language, and more. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of linguists to excel in both academia and diverse professional settings.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
The Department of Linguistics seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor of undergraduate courses in Linguistics in introductory and general areas. The posting is for Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027. Potential instruction also needed in sociolinguistics, semantics, phonetics and phonology, language and law, and teaching English as a second language applications.
Master's degree in Linguistics and prior experience teaching as an assistant or instructor of record.
Master's degree in Linguistics, experience teaching or assisting in courses such as "Language of Now" and "Semantics and Pragmatics".
Communicating with others to exchange information.
