Job summary

VCU Honors College is seeking a part-time instructor in Richmond, VA to facilitate course objectives and meet instruction guidelines. The role includes grading, timely responses to student inquiries within 24 hours, and submitting final grades in accordance with college policies.

Minimum qualifications require a master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours and a strong understanding of college students' emotional, motivational, and developmental needs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in psychology, counseling, education, behavioral health, student affairs, student development, or related field.
• Strong understanding of emotional, motivational, and developmental needs of college students.
• Experience fostering respect, professionalism, and civility with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
• Ph.D. in psychology, education, counseling, or related discipline (preferred).
• Prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level (preferred).

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in psychology, counseling, education, behavioral health, student affairs, student development, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the emotional, motivational, and developmental needs of college students.
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in psychology, education, counseling, or a related discipline
• Prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level
