Job description

Work Schedule: Starting in Fall Semester 2026. Candidate must be available to teach in-person at the LCCC Tamaqua site on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Summary

The position involves teaching Criminal Justice Administration subjects within our program. While specific assignments are subject to the needs of the College and may vary, the current anticipated course rotation includes:

  • Fall Semester: Introduction to Criminal Justice and Juvenile Justice.
  • Spring Semester: Criminal Evidence and Court Procedure, and Law Enforcement and Society.

Additionally, the role will draw upon real-life engagement, interaction or experience and/or familiarity with criminal justice workplace environments and practices. The position is part of the School of Business, Legal, and Social Services.

  • Maintain and submit accurate academic records, including grades, attendance, and certifications.
  • Enhance instructional effectiveness through ongoing self-evaluation and by integrating current developments in teaching and learning strategies.
  • Develop and update course curriculum, including using appropriate technology.
  • Deliver course instruction in alignment with the master course outline and class schedule.
  • Actively participate in Criminal Justice faculty meetings.
  • Create and implement plans to effectively deliver the program curriculum.
  • Assist the college in ensuring technology, facilities, and equipment remain up-to-date.
  • Engage in professional development, including both college-sponsored activities and independent efforts, to remain current in the field of study.
  • Advise students as to appropriate courses for completion of the program of study.
  • Collaborate with counselors, advisors, and other college staff to address student needs.
  • Stay informed about industry, market, and competitive trends to support program relevancy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Class Schedule Information
  • Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Semester Structure: Fall (August–December) and Spring (January–May).
  • Note: Specific course offerings and schedules are subject to change based on enrollment and institutional requirements.
Qualifications

Required:

  • A Master Degree or Juris Doctor from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of five years of Criminal Justice experience in Pennsylvania.

Preferred:

  • Teaching experience at a secondary or college level.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems.
  • Hy-flex synchronous teaching experience in the classroom and Remote meetings technology.
  • Asynchronous Course Development and Instruction.
