Job Description

As an adjunct criminal justice faculty member, you will plan, develop, and teach courses to facilitate student learning, contribute to the educational environment, and support the college’s mission. You must adhere to institutional guidelines and academic standards while maximizing student engagement.

Essential Job Functions

• Teach criminal justice courses at multiple times and locations.
• Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
• Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
• Utilize a course syllabus following established institutional guidelines.
• Meet with and advise students before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
• Evaluate students to measure progress toward course objectives and communicate results promptly.
• Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
• Perform other reasonable, related duties as assigned.

• Work in climate‑controlled classroom or lab environments with minimal safety hazards.
• Hours vary by class schedule; faculty must be available for meetings and student requests outside of instructional time.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in criminal justice, criminology, justice studies, or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in criminal justice.

Salary

$55.44 per contact hour.
