The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking an Adjunct Instructor in Criminal Justice to create a dynamic learning environment for students. Responsibilities include teaching courses as per departmental outlines, participating in initiatives, and other assigned duties.
A Master’s Degree is required, with a preference for a doctorate or specialized training, along with prior teaching experience. Strong communication skills and knowledge in Criminal Justice are essential.
Primary objective of all faculty positions is to create a dynamic teaching and learning environment for our students, while contributing to the college service. Faculty responsibilities include teaching assigned courses by following the course description and course outline established by the department. In accordance with the Adjunct Faculty collective bargaining agreement (CBA), additional responsibilities may include participating in departmental initiatives, providing evidence of academic achievements, recognition by professional and community organizations, and other duties as assigned. Teaching schedules may include day/evening courses and online/hybrid instruction and other instructional modalities. Online instruction requires certification through a 7-week asynchronous CCM certification course prior to teaching.
Master's Degree is required from a regionally accredited institution in an appropriate discipline. A doctorate and/or specialized training in a related specific discipline is preferred and may be required depending on the subject.
Prior college or university teaching experience and experience working in the field of study preferred, as is evidence of scholarly and/or professional activities. Additional job experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree in a selected discipline.
Demonstrated knowledge of discipline with educational and/or practical competence in one or more of the following areas: Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, or Emergency Services. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
