The ensemble program at the University of North Texas offers more than seventy ensembles, large and small, in which students may participate. It includes traditional ensembles such as orchestra, band, choir, opera, and jazz, and specializes in early music, new music in acoustic and electronic media, and world music ensembles like mariachi, Balinese gamelan, African drumming and dancing, and others. The Department of Conducting & Ensembles seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor Pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. The courses may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses are developed on a periodic basis depending on department teaching needs.
Responsibilities include teaching the 3‑semester long choral literature sequence and a conducting class for MM students in conducting and related fields.
A master's degree in choral conducting with knowledge of choral literature or a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours directly related to the assigned courses.
Terminal degree in discipline is preferred.
