Department Summary

The College of Music is the largest public university music program in the United States and one of the most globally respected. Position Overview

The Department of College of Music seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 semesters. This position impacts the entire undergraduate population and is not affiliated with a specific department. The College of Music enrolls approximately 1,500 music majors, with two-thirds being undergraduate students.

The position will involve teaching MUGC 4890, Studies in Music, which is a new course designed for Pre-Music students. Pre-Music students have not been admitted as a music major. The expectation is to provide the students in this course information about becoming a music major and options for alternative majors at UNT.

Minimum Qualifications

A master's degree in Music or a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours directly related to the assigned courses(s).
