Position Summary

Weatherford College occasionally has adjunct instructor openings. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply. Applicants who meet qualifications are added to a pool that may be considered for future openings. When a need arises, a hiring manager will draw from this pool on an as‑needed basis. Successful candidates will be contacted for further consideration.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the approved discipline, facilitating student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes and mentoring students inside and outside the classroom.
• Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities assigned to the courses (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit).
• Provide instruction in both traditional and non‑traditional learning modes, engage in instructional preparation, and submit timely feedback to students.
• Assess student performance, submit final grades promptly, and maintain ethical and professional behavior.
• Be available to students by appointment, attend adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses at departmental and institutional levels, complete required training, and perform other related duties as assigned.
• Maintain familiarity with and adherence to College policies and procedures.

Qualifications

All faculty members must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion. This includes an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or licenses must be submitted with the application.

Education and experience requirements:

• Associate degree and/or 2–5 years work experience in the field of study.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or 6–10 years work experience and/or credentialed in the field of study.
• Master’s degree and/or 11–15 years work experience and/or credentialed in the field of study.
• Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience and/or credentialed in the field of study.

Rate of pay is dependent upon education and experience.
