Des Moines Area Community College in Boone, IA seeks an adjunct Civil Engineering Technology instructor to teach CET 130 – Surveying Fundamentals in Spring Semester 2027, web-blended and in person.

The role requires an associate degree or diploma in the subject area and related experience; teaching experience is preferred. Compensation is $1,123 per ECH, with scheduling including four Tuesdays 8:00am–5:00pm on Boone Campus.

Job Summary

Teaches assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi.

Develops and/or utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students.

Fosters a safe and civil learning environment.

Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies.

Monitors, evaluates, and documents student attendance, progress and competency attainment.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in subject area and 1.5 years of civil engineering related experience OR

Diploma or Certificate in subject area and 3 years of non-teaching work experience related to specific course.

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from varied backgrounds.
