Job summary

Des Moines Area Community College seeks an Adjunct Instructor of Mathematics for face-to-face and/or online instruction. Primary locations are in the Des Moines Metro area, with additional DMACC locations possible for Fall 2026/Spring 2027. Review of applications will begin immediately.

Responsibilities include teaching courses per competencies, employing varied instructional strategies, and ensuring a safe, civil learning environment. Fall 2026/Spring 2027 scheduling is to be determined.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mathematics or an equivalent Master’s with 12 graduate credits in Mathematics.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with diverse individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi.
  • Utilize diverse instructional strategies to meet varied learning styles.
  • Inform students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies.
  • Monitor attendance, progress and competency attainment.

Salary Information

$1,123 per Equivalent Credit Hour ( ECH ).

Job Summary

Essential Functions

Teaches assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi. Develops and/or utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students. Fosters a safe and civil learning environment. Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies. Monitors, evaluates, and documents student attendance, progress and competency attainment.

Required Qualifications

Master of Math or any master’s with 12 graduate semester credits in Math.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from varied backgrounds.

Desired Qualifications

At least 6 graduate semester credits in Statistics.
Teaching experience.
