Lansing Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Chemistry. Courses will be taught on our downtown Lansing campus; in-person teaching is required.

The position is part-time, up to 30 hours per week, with compensation based on the PT Salary Schedule. Requirements include a Master’s in Chemistry with 18 credits (or a related field) and prior teaching experience. Documents for credential evaluation may be requested.

Qualifications

Adjunct (part-time) faculty to teach courses in Chemistry. Depending upon program needs and the candidate’s qualifications, teaching assignments will be on LCC’s downtown Lansing campus. Adjunct faculty are expected to work collaboratively with senior department faculty to develop course content consistent with official course syllabi, to deliver course instruction to students, and to be available for student assistance and advising outside of class. Additional responsibilities may include participation in course assessment, department/program meetings, professional development activities, and other duties as assigned.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Chemistry (from a regionally accredited college or university) or a Master’s degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) with a minimum of 18 semester graduate credits (or the equivalent number of quarter hours) in Chemistry.
Previous teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctoral degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) in Chemistry or doctoral degree in a closely related field + 18 semester graduate credits (or the equivalent number of quarter hours) in Chemistry.
Teaching at the college level.
