Overview

Weatherford College frequently recruits adjunct instructors for a continuous recruitment program. Qualified applicants who apply will be added to a pool for future consideration. When a position becomes available, the hiring manager will draw from this pool on an as‑needed basis.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the approved discipline in a variety of modalities (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual‑credit).
• Design and facilitate instruction to help students achieve specific learning outcomes.
• Mentor students both inside and outside the classroom.
• Maintain an effective learning environment and adapt instructional materials to the chosen modality.
• Provide timely feedback, respond promptly to student communications, and submit final grades in a timely manner.
• Engage in instructional preparation, attend adjunct faculty meetings, and complete required training.
• Assess courses at departmental and institutional levels, and perform other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to College policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all interactions.

Required Education

• LVN or RN with a minimum of one year’s nursing experience in a Medicaid, Medicare, or dual‑participating nursing facility.
• Completion of a course in teaching adults or experience teaching adults or supervising nurse aides.
• Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards for faculty teaching workforce certificate or degree completion courses, including an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated teaching competencies.
• Academic qualifications corresponding to experience: Associate degree with 2‑5 years work experience; Bachelor’s degree with 6‑10 years; Master’s with 11‑15 years; Doctorate with 16+ years. All required transcripts, certificates, and licenses must be submitted with the application.

Required Experience

• At least one year of nursing experience in a long‑term care facility as described above.

Preferred Education & Experience

• Five years of overall nursing experience.
• Completion of a course in teaching adults or prior teaching or supervisory experience with nurse aides.
