The Building Construction Technologies Adjunct must be able to effectively communicate and demonstrate knowledge of specific technical skills within both the lab and classroom environment to a diverse student population. The successful candidate will be responsible for the instruction of Building Technologies course(s) in Interior Construction and/or Exterior Construction and/or Structural Framing. The successful candidate may also be required to teach classes in construction materials and methods, construction technologies, mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, building information modeling, sustainable construction, energy management, and/or building commissioning. The successful candidate will be able to adjust instructional techniques as required by individual student learning styles while maintaining a safe and positive learning environment for students and fellow faculty members. Proven commitment to construction safety and quality construction standards is necessary.

*Teaching assignments may include daytime and/or evening hours.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and two years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field
  • Associate's Degree in a related field and four years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field
  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of eight years relevant experience residential/light commercial construction field
  • Michigan Residential Builders License

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional accreditation/certification as a LEED®AP, PE, CPC, CxA, or other related credential.
