Job summary

Francis Tuttle Technology Center seeks an Adjunct Instructor to deliver instruction in open enrollment/short-term Lifelong Learning courses in safety, foreign language, accounting and trades. You will prepare engaging lessons and participate in the class proposal process.

This role emphasizes the Francis Tuttle culture, mission and core values of service, trust, aspiration, respect and responsibility. Schedule varies with offerings and may include day, evening or weekend classes; not a full-time

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certifications or credentials may be required for certain courses.
  • Lecture and demonstrative skills are essential.
  • Reasoning ability and the ability to instruct.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Satisfactory personal conduct and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities to facilitate active learning in classroom, lab/shop, or work-based settings.
  • Be a positive role model supporting the school district's mission.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Manage class-related paperwork including rosters, attendance, grades, and surveys.
  • Maintain discipline and safety per Francis Tuttle policies.
  • Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain professional relationships with staff and community members.
  • Present information clearly with effective communication.
  • Respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
  • Maintain reliable, punctual attendance.

Our Workforce and Economic Development (WED) Department is constantly on the lookout for quality adjuncts instructors in the areas of safety, foreign language, accounting and trades.Interested in teaching in one of these Lifelong Learning class offerings for open enrollment/short-term class areas?

Date: August 18, 2026 Job Title: Adjunct Instructor Department: Workforce and Economic Development (WED) Reports Directly To: Director, WED

Primary Function: Effectively and enthusiastically deliver instruction to students seeking learning opportunities in our Workforce and Economic Development - Open Enrollment/Short-Term class offerings.

Common Essential Job Functions:
  • Plans, prepares and delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in the classroom, laboratory/shop and/or work-based learning environment.
  • Be a positive role model for students, supporting the mission of the school district.
  • Ability to create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Effectively manage class-related paperwork and processes including student rosters, attendance sheets, grades, and surveys.
  • Maintain discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive learning environment for studentsin accordance with Francis Tuttle policies.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students,equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with internal and external customers and community members.
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
  • Reliable, dependable and punctual attendance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Industry certifications or credentials may be required for certain courses.
  • Lecture and demonstrative skills.
  • Reasoning ability and the ability to instruct.
  • E xcellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Satisfactory personal conduct and integrity.
Working Conditions:

Frequent walking, standing and/or sitting and stooping. Environment may be a classroom and/or shop environment. Ability to lift 10-25 lbs. Concentrated visual effort is required. Extensive communication with internal and external customers. This is not an exhaustive list and reasonable accommodations will be made as needed.

Organizational Relationship:

Adjunct instructor reports to Director of Workforce and Economic Development. Not full-time permanent employment. Instructs in approved classes as needed.

Schedule:

Varies depending on approved course offerings. Classes may be daytime, evening and/or on Saturdays.
