Job summary

Fortis College in Indy is seeking an experienced HVAC/R Technician to join its faculty. This is a part-time, professional position focused on teaching HVAC/R courses and providing academic advising to students.

You will report to the Program Director, assist in department training, attend meetings, and participate in graduation activities. Prior postsecondary teaching experience and HVAC/R industry background are preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an HVAC/R program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma; associate degree preferred.
• Certifications: HVAC, EPA Universal.
• At least three years of experience as an HVAC/R Technician.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior postsecondary/higher education teaching experience preferred.

Job Description

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic faculty member to teach in our HVAC/R Program. This is a part-time, professional position reporting directly to the Program Director. The primary responsibility will be to teach HVAC/R courses. Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising to students, assist the program director and participate in department training, meetings and graduation.

• Completion of an HVAC/R program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma; associate degree preferred
• Certifications Required:
  • HVAC
  • EPA Universal
• Certifications Desired but not required:
  • Journeyman
  • Nate
• At least three years of experience as an HVAC/R Technician
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized, motivated and results driven
• Prior postsecondary/higher education teaching experience preferred
