POSITION TITLE

Adjunct History Instructor

POSITION DESCRIPTION
  • Under general supervision, provides instruction to students in History courses.
  • Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills and knowledge of current procedures in the History field.
  • Develops program and syllabi, goals, and objectives.
  • Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Requests and maintains supplies and equipment.
  • Performs related academic duties including, but not limited to, developing course outlines, class presentations, and ensuring compliance with institutional, TCSG, and accreditation standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s Degree in History or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in History from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Experience as an instructor/teacher in a secondary or postsecondary setting.
  • Excellent human-relations, interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Postsecondary teaching experience.
  • Three years paid work experience in-field within the past seven years.
  • Experience in distance education and demonstrated use of technology.
SALARY/BENEFITS

Commensurate with qualifications.
