Southwest Tennessee Community College is seeking an adjunct faculty member for the Funeral Service Education program. This is a part-time position with compensation of $640 per credit hour.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Funeral Service Education and graduation from an ABFSE-accredited program; Tennessee licenses.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Two years as a professional in Funeral Service and two years related experience.
• Two years of teaching experience.
• Use observational, oral, and/or written assessment to direct and enhance learning in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers instruction on topics in Funeral Service Education program.
• Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers; communicate progress.
• Develops curricula and instructional materials such as syllabi and handouts.
• Maintains office hours and assists in student recruitment and retention; helps students with course-related problems.
• Maintains attendance records, grades, and records in FERPA compliance.
• Attends faculty meetings, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities.
• Keeps abreast of developments in the field and participates in professional conferences.
• Participates in committee work and community outreach.
• May perform other duties as assigned by Department Head/Dean.
