Job summary

Qualifications

• Earned a terminal degree and experience in Leadership, Higher Education, Research, or Community College.
• 1+ year experience in teaching and leadership in a formal educational setting with both traditional and non-traditional formats.
• Demonstrated ability to develop online and virtual professional relationships.
• Evidence of professional research or creative endeavors and expertise in the field.

Responsibilities

• Interact directly with students in a professional manner.
• Facilitate a safe and productive learning environment.
• Respond promptly to student requests and contact inactive students as needed.
• Monitor and ensure course quality by reviewing content and functionality.
• Enrich course content with personal professional insights.
• Provide timely student feedback on assignments within policy guidelines.

As an Adjunct Faculty member, you maintain a strong academic presence and growth in professional development for teaching, scholarly or creative works, and service to the profession and the college. You report directly under the department chair who guides your academic and teaching responsibilities, service to students and the community, and professional development.

Compensation

ACE pays a competitive wage. Adjuncts are paid per student per course: $50 per student at the bachelor and master levels, and $126 per student at the doctorate level. Additional paid opportunities include committee service and course development.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

In this role you will wear multiple hats, with essential skills across several areas.

Academic and Teaching Responsibilities

• Promote the college’s vision, mission, and culture within and beyond the institution.
• Provide leadership within your sphere of influence.

Professional Development

• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, seminars, reviewing publications, networking, and joining professional societies.
• Support quality of program and course offerings through research promotion.
