Job summary

Macomb Community College Adjunct Faculty in the Engineering Technology program teaches robotics classes using on campus, online, remote, and hybrid delivery. The role uses a mix of classroom lectures, in‑class assignments, and lab activities to help students achieve learning outcomes.

Faculty maintain LMS materials, keep gradebooks current, and submit final grades by deadlines while supporting program accreditation standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline or related field, plus two years of full‑time, non‑teaching work experience in a relevant field; OR
  • Associate's degree in the teaching discipline or related field, plus five years of full‑time, non‑teaching work experience in a relevant field, and an appropriate and relevant alternative credential.
  • Alternative Credential (preferred): Licensed/Certified in mechatronics, electronics, or robotics (e.g. State License, Journeyman's Card, Department of Labor Certification, FANUC, NFPA or related).

Responsibilities

  • Teach robotics classes using a mix of classroom lecture, in‑class assignments and labs.
  • Maintain course materials in the LMS, including announcements, syllabus, and gradebook.
  • Keep gradebook up to date and submit final grades by deadlines.
  • Collaborate with department and Learning Unit to meet accreditation standards.
  • Assist in facilitating student clinical and/or lab experiences as assigned.
  • Participate in course assessments to measure expected student learning outcomes.
  • Complete training for instructional modalities as required.
  • Maintain faculty credentials as required by accrediting agencies.
  • Attend Faculty Development Days and participate in Learning Unit committees as schedule permits.

Education

Job description

Macomb Community College Adjunct Faculty demonstrate deep subject matter knowledge and provide effective instruction to students using various modalities including, but not limited to, on campus, online, remote, hybrid, and flexible learning. Adjunct Faculty are responsive to their students and support their success through timely communication, feedback, and assessment of student learning.

  • An opportunity to join a premier community college as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Engineering Technology program.
  • Primary responsibility will be to teach robotics classes. Adjuncts will use combinations of classroom lecture, in-class assignments and lab.
  • Teach predefined subject matter as assigned by the department.
  • Maintain course materials in the College’s Learning Management System (LMS), including, but not limited to, announcement, syllabus, and gradebook.
  • Keep gradebook up to date and submit final grades by published deadlines.
  • Participate and actively cooperate with the department and Learning Unit to meet accreditation standards.
  • Assist in facilitating student clinical and or lab experiences as assigned and applicable.
  • Participate in course assessments that will accurately measure achievement of student learning outcomes as assigned.
  • Complete training for various instructional delivery modalities as required.
  • Maintain faculty credentials as required by the College’s accrediting agencies.
  • Attend Faculty Development Days and/or Institutional Development Days as schedule permits and applicable.
  • Participate in Learning Unit committees as schedule permits.
  • Other duties as assigned in compliance with the AAFMCC collective bargaining agreement.

  • Associate's degree in the teaching discipline or related field, plus five (5) years of full‑time, non‑teaching work experience in a relevant field, and an appropriate and relevant alternative credential.
