ADJUNCT PT – SPANISH INSTRUCTOR

DALEY COLLEGE

The department of Foreign Languages is currently seeking a Spanish Instructor (PT) to begin Fall Semester 2026

Please note: This position may require full in‑person teaching as hybrid schedules are not guaranteed.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • You must demonstrate excellence in teaching, commitment to integrating new technologies into the learning process and the ability to inspire, motivate and empower students to succeed.
  • Maintain office hours for advising, mentoring and coaching students.
  • Development and revision of courses and instructional materials as necessary.
  • Post syllabi and grades on Blackboard.
Qualifications
  • At minimum, you must have a MA in Spanish, with appropriate coursework in Spanish, Linguistics, or Translation and Interpretation.
  • Candidates should be certified as a translator or interpreter with five or more years of related occupational experience.
  • In addition to the minimum requirements, you must be focused on effective teaching; assessment of student learning; and continuous growth in the field of study.
  • We also value expertise in student-centered teaching; facility with instructional technology, including Blackboard Learning Management System; and a commitment to professional development in teaching.
  • Ability to teach various translation and interpreting courses, including but not limited to Fundamentals of Translation and Interpreting, Medical Interpreting, and Educational Interpreting.
