The City University of New York is seeking adjunct faculty for the Culinary Arts Program at Kingsborough Community College. Applicants should possess significant industry and teaching experience and a passion for teaching in a diverse environment.
Responsibilities include teaching both lab and lecture courses, developing curricula, and evaluating student work. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of five years of industry experience, and a current NYC Food Handler’s License are preferred.
Compensation is competitive, with pay rates starting at $112.50 per hour, increasing based on rank and experience.
The Culinary Arts Program at Kingsborough Community College seeks adjunct faculty with a history of significant industry and teaching experience to join our team. We are looking for talented professionals who have a passion to teach and want to share their knowledge with students. Successful candidates will be committed to teaching in a multicultural environment and welcome the opportunity to work with students with diverse learning needs.
Teach both lab and lecture courses within the Culinary Arts curriculum, including, but not limited to, introductory and advanced culinary arts, catering, pastry arts, food service management, food safety and sanitation, and dining room management.
Create, develop and present curricula and course materials including lectures and assignments.
Administer and evaluate student work, including assignments, exams, and lab performance.
Participate in adjunct faculty meetings and trainings, as required.
Day, evening, and weekend teaching may be required based upon the needs of the Program.

Bachelor’s degree in the area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully. Applicants should have a minimum of five (5) years of post‑degree employment in Culinary Arts. Higher education teaching experience, with a strong record of teaching is strongly preferred. Current NYC Food Handler’s License and Serve‑Safe Food Safety Certificate is required.

Adjunct Assistant Professor - $120.83 per hour ($125.06 starting 09/01/26)
Adjunct Associate Professor - $129.17-$129.75 per hour ($133.69-$134.29 starting 09/01/26)
Adjunct Professor - $137.50-$142.94 per hour ($142.31-$147.94 starting 09/01/26)
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
