Adjunct Faculty, Massage Therapy (Practical Focus)

Work Schedule: To be determined based on business unit needs. Classes may be offered during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Please indicate your availability when applying for this position.

Job Description:

Teaches a full range of lecture and lab credit courses in massage therapy theory, practice, and clinical. Assists in the development of continuing education for students and accompanies students to off-site activities or clinical.

• Prepares and delivers learning activities to achieve course outcomes
• Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts
• Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations
• Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation by specified deadlines
• Be available to students for coaching
• Participates in periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College regarding teaching duties and professional development

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a practicing licensed massage therapist with therapeutic and relaxation massage experience, licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio, and eligible to teach massage theory and practice in Ohio. Candidates with out-of-state licenses must pass the MBLEx exam and obtain Ohio licensure by the start date.
• Ability and willingness to receive student massages to evaluate their technique, methods, and professionalism
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)
• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) and organizational skills
• Sensitivity to diverse populations

• Teaching experience

Special Note: This is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the 2024-2025 academic year.
