ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY Adjunct Faculty, Lecturer of Medical Office Assistant
ABOUT THIS POSITION
Summary: CMU Tech’s Allied Health Program is seeking enthusiastic Adjunct Instructors to teach in our Medical Assistant program, with a specific focus on Montrose and the surrounding areas. This flexible position is ideal for experienced healthcare professionals—including Medical Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians, Medical Coders/Billers, Medical Administrative Professionals, Nurses, EMTs/Paramedics—who are passionate about preparing students for rewarding careers in healthcare. Courses may be delivered in a hybrid format, combining online instruction with occasional hands-on skills labs that may be supported by CMU Tech’s high-tech Mobile Learning Lab. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to: Instructional Responsibilities: • Teach one or more Medical Assistant courses (e.g., administrative procedures, clinical skills, coding/billing, EHR, pharmacology, patient care). • Deliver instruction aligned with approved syllabi, accreditation guidelines, and program standards. • Incorporate real-world examples and skillsets that reflect current industry practices. Professional Development: • Maintain relevant certifications and licensure. • Integrate current industry standards and technologies into teaching practices. • Use online learning platforms and tools to support student success. Student Support: • Be available to students outside of class for questions and mentoring. • Engage with students using a variety of tools (Zoom, email, phone, synchronous chats). • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Commitment to Student Success: • Emphasize hands-on, real-world skill development. • Tailor instruction to meet diverse student learning needs. • Encourage confidence, competence, and professionalism in all students. • Support career readiness and credentialing preparation.
Minimum Qualifications Required: • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare role such as Medical Assisting, Nursing, Pharmacy Technician, Coding & Billing, Medical Office Management, or EMT/Paramedic. • Strong understanding of patient care, clinical workflows, or administrative healthcare systems. Preferred Qualifications: • Previous teaching or training experience (formal or informal). • National certification (e.g., RMA, CMA, CPhT, CPC, NCCT, etc.).
Compensation:$600.00-$850.00 per credit hour, commensurate with education and experience.
