Job summary

The University of Pikeville invites applications for part-time faculty in the Kentucky College of Optometry as a clinical preceptor and lab instructor. The role supports student learning through hands-on clinical care and skills development.

Responsibilities include supervising patient care in KYCO clinics, timely documentation, tutoring students, and regular communication with the Associate Dean for Clinics. A KY OD license and 3+ years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must have OD degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience or residency training.

Job description

The University of Pikeville maintains a pool of part-time faculty who are passionate about teaching and student learning. This application is for a position in the Kentucky College of Optometry as a clinical preceptor and lab instructor.

We are currently seeking faculty in the following fields as well as faculty who can provide expertise in:

• Primary Care
• Ocular Disease
• Specialty Care (Pediatrics, Cornea/Contact Lens, Low Vision)

Requirements

• Must be licensed to practice optometry in the commonwealth of Kentucky.
