Job summary

The University of Pikeville invites applications for a Professional Clinical Educator in the Kentucky College of Optometry (KYCO). The successful candidate will teach and provide patient care in KYCO clinics alongside student interns and residents.

Minimum requirements include a Doctor of Optometry (OD); residency or minimum three years of clinical experience preferred; Kentucky licensure with expanded therapeutics certification; prior teaching is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Doctor of Optometry Degree (OD) required.
• Residency training in appropriate area or minimum of three years clinical experience preferred.
• OD applicants must be eligible for licensure in Kentucky with expanded therapeutics certification and participate in patient care services.
• Prior college teaching experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in KYCO clinics providing patient care with student interns and optometric residents.
• Contribute to classroom and clinical instruction for KYCO students.
