Adjunct Faculty: Instructor of Voice and Speech

Part‑time adjunct instructor teaching first‑year Voice and Speech I in the Theatre Conservatory at Roosevelt University Chicago College of Performing Arts. The course is required for all BFA Acting, Musical Theatre, and Musical Theatre Dance majors and is offered in the Fall semester.

Applications will be reviewed immediately, with an expected start date for the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters.

Compensation is based on student enrollment and course hours. Courses carrying fewer or more than three credits receive prorated compensation.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years teaching at the university level.
• Bachelor's degree required. Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Acting, Theatre performance or related experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of professional voice development techniques such as Linklater, Rodenburg, and Knight‑Thompson.

Equipment Operated

Studio sound system, basic office and classroom equipment, and Smart‑classroom equipment (computer, monitor, projector, audio equipment).

Working Conditions

Normal climate‑controlled office environment; occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling (typically less than 10–15 pounds).
