Roosevelt University is looking for Adjunct Faculty to join its Chicago College of Performing Arts. In this role, you will substitute for a variety of dance classes across styles like Ballet, Jazz, and Tap when instructors are unavailable.
Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of university-level teaching experience. Responsibilities include engaging students and demonstrating expertise in dance. The position offers flexible compensation based on student enrollment.
Position Summary: The Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) at Roosevelt University seeks adjunct instructors to substitute for a variety of dance classes when our instructors have conflicts with professional engagements or other commitments. Qualified instructors will remain on our roster for the 2024-25 academic year and may cover a variety of courses in the following dance styles for BFA Acting, Musical Theatre, and BA Theatre Studies majors:
Applications will be reviewed immediately with expected start dates in the Fall 2025 & Spring 2026 semesters.
Compensation is based on student enrollment and course hours; courses with fewer or more than three credits will have prorated compensation accordingly.

Successful applicants will have working expertise in various dance styles relevant to musical theatre and knowledge of the history and culture of musical theatre dance.
Normal climate‑controlled office environment is provided. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of less than 10–15 pounds is required.
