Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Adjunct Faculty – Surgical Technology / Health Science Instructor. This position is located in the Division of Nursing and Allied Health Services. This is a part-time position. This position is open for recruitment.
Adjunct faculty members are responsible for teaching courses as assigned. Adjunct faculty may teach in the evening, weekends, online and dual enrollment courses as needed. Faculty are expected to support the institution's mission and vision and abide by the Faculty Handbook and college-wide policies. Adjunct faculty report directly to the academic program manager and/or department chair within their respective departments and divisions.

Applicants for adjunct AS‑Surgical Technology program must possess a minimum of an associate’s degree with plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree; a bachelor's degree or higher is preferred.
Applicants for adjunct instructor for the AS‑Surgical Technology program must have at least 2 years in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years. Previous teaching experience preferred.
Applicant must possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA). Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is preferred.
Current American Heart Association–Basic Life Support, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
Active Membership in the Association of Surgical Technologists.
