Experience Requirements :
The equivalent of one year teaching work experience (2000 hrs.) inthe field.
Preferred Experience :
Experience teaching disadvantaged adults is highly desirable.
Education Requirements :
A bachelor's degree in education or related field.
Preferred Education Requirements :
Masters in TESOL or related field.
Deliver course content that aligns with the college’s curriculumstandards and student learning outcomes.
Develop course syllabi, assignments, and assessments that reflectcurrent industry practices and ensure course outcomes aremet.
Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment thataccommodates diverse learning styles and promotes studentsuccess.
Use technology and other resources to enhance course delivery andstudent engagement, including online, hybrid, or face-to-facemodalities.
Maintain accurate records of student’s progress and grades.
Must adhere to mid-term verification and final grade postingdeadlines.
Adhere to institutional policies and procedures, including thoserelated to academic integrity and accessibility.
Teach ELA (English Literacy Acquisition)/ESL Literacy.
Support students in developing foundational English language,literacy, and life skills necessary for successful participation ineducation, employment, and community life.
Instruction aligns with the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB)Adult Education and Literacy Standards.
Adjunct faculty may be assigned a maximum workload of 24 contacthours or equivalent per academic year (i.e., fall and springsemesters). Classes within the program are offered in daytime,evening, and/or online modalities based on student demand.
