Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is seeking adjunct faculty to teach on the Richmond Campus. You will create and deliver in-person courses, align materials with syllabus objectives, and assess student progress while maintaining accurate records.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s and preferably a master’s degree, with ability to adapt teaching to diverse student needs. FERPA compliance and campus policies are essential; additional duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s transcripts required.
  • Experience delivering in-person instruction preferred.
  • Ability to develop and update course materials and assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Create learning environments aligned with course objectives and syllabi.
  • Deliver assigned classes in person at the Richmond Campus.
  • Develop and maintain outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
  • Maintain accurate student records and grades.
  • Engage with students to promote active learning and positive experiences.
  • Interact professionally with students and co-workers and comply with college policies.
  • Adhere to FERPA and safety regulations; support emergency procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Adjunct Faculty Responsibilities

Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided. Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives. Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods. Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements. Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular). Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations. Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments. This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards..

All classes will be in person at the Richmond Campus.

Program Standards

Engineering Technology Program Standard: A qualified faculty member in engineering technology meets the program standard with an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in Engineering or Engineering Technology. Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction. Conducts all activities with an appreciation, respect for all students and employees.
