Harper College seeks an educator to teach algebra-based physics at the college level, delivering engaging lectures and labs in a structured schedule.
The position requires a Master’s degree in physics or engineering with substantial graduate coursework and experience using Blackboard CMS; teaching with microcomputer-based labs is preferred.
PHY 110 and PHY 100 meet Tue/Thu Jan 19–May 21, 2027, 2:00–4:20pm or 9:30–10:45am. The instructor should align activities with course goals and outcomes.
PHY 110, Tues & Thurs, 2:00 – 4:20pm; PHY 100, Tues & Thurs, 9:30 – 10:45am. Both classes will meet from January 19 to May 21, 2027.
Master’s degree in physics or appropriate engineering discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate-level coursework in appropriate physics and/or engineering courses; or master’s degree in a related field with 18 credit hours in graduate-level physics.
Previous experience teaching algebra-based physics at the college level, use of microcomputer-based labs and ability to work with course management systems such as Blackboard are preferred qualifications. The teaching requirement may be fulfilled through a program of supervised teaching as a graduate student.
