Job summary

Manhattan University invites applications for part-time faculty to teach lower division courses in Physics and Science for the 2025-26 year. Courses include Physics I Laboratory (2 credits) and Physics II Laboratory (2 credits). The position is on-campus, in-person, with flexible schedules and collaboration with the Laboratory Manager to ensure consistency across sections.

Salary Range Based on Experience:

Instructor $1477.28 per credit

Assistant Professor $1526.25 per credit

Associate Professor $1575.65 per credit

Professor $1625.04 per credit

The Department of Mathematics and Physics at Manhattan Universityis seeking part-time faculty to teach lower division courses inPhysics and Science during the 2025-26 academic year. Possiblecourses include Physics I Laboratory (2 credits) and Physics IILaboratory (2 credits) for science and engineering majors takingcalculus-based introductory physics. Schedules are flexible. Thesuccessful candidate will work with the Laboratory Manager andother Department faculty to ensure a consistent experience forstudents across multiple sections of these courses.

This isan in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Job Responsibilities
  • Teach introductory laboratory courses and/or introductorylecture courses in Physics and general Science. Lab courses meetfor a three-hour period each week.
  • Work with a diverse community of students to enhance theirlearning.
  • Use email and Moodle LM to communicate regularly with studentsoutside of class.
  • Grade student work and provide timely and constructive feedbackeach week.
  • Work with Laboratory Manager and Department Faculty to ensurealignment of course content with program objectives.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or M.S. in physics or a related field.
  • At least one year of teaching experience.

Candidates with a proven record of excellence in teaching willbe preferred.
