Job summary

Alamo Colleges District seeks a part-time, temporary Cosmetology faculty member to teach and mentor students, supporting the District's mission and values.

Qualifications

• Three years of work experience in the Cosmetology field or five years of relevant professional experience in lieu of the required degree.
• Certifications/licenses listed in the job posting include Cosmetologist Operator, Manicurist, Esthetician, and Eyelash Extension licenses.
• Teaching experience preferred in the Cosmetology field.

Job Summary and Description

Teaching faculty are professional educators who have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the District mission of providing a quality education for all students attending the colleges. Categories include full-time, temporary with benefits, and temporary without benefits. Faculty members are responsible to a department/program chairperson; The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning. Faculty members will uphold the mission and values of the colleges’ and foster effective working relationships with students and colleagues.

• Three years of work experience in the Cosmetology field or five years of relevant professional experience in lieu of the required degree.

• Cosmetologist Operator License and/or


• Manicurist License and/or


• Esthetician License and/or


• Eyelash Extension License

Preferred Education and Experience

• Teaching experience preferred in the Cosmetology field.
