Job summary

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a part-time Adjunct Evening Nail Instructor to provide quality instruction in manicure classes. The role requires a Cosmetology or Nail License and experience teaching is preferred.
You will prepare course content, engage students, and work collaboratively with support services to foster student success in a professional environment.

The work hours are Monday to Thursday from 5:15 PM to 10 PM in the Cosmetic Arts & Therapeutic Massage department.

Qualifications

• Required Cosmetology or Nail License and Instructor License.
• Experience teaching Nail Technology preferred.

Job description

Faculty - Cosmetology (Adjunct - Evening Nail Instructor)

A part-time, or adjunct, faculty member is employed to provide direct instruction in either a classroom, lab, clinical, or distance education setting on a semester contract basis. The primary responsibility of part-time faculty is to provide quality instruction to students. Adjunct instructors are provided a contract for a single term only. Each contract ends at the end of the term, and a new contract will be provided if the adjunct faculty is hired for another term. An adjunct faculty member is under the management of the Program/Division Chair and supervised by the Academic Dean. This position is specifically for our evening manicure classes.

Duty and Responsibility

1. Successfully prepare, manage, and deliver course content in order to achieve course objectives, accommodate diverse learning styles, and meet student learning outcomes.
2. Actively engage students and provide prompt feedback in an objective, respectful, and effective manner.
3. Communicate and follow course syllabus content in accordance with directions provided and administrative guidance.
4. Work collaboratively with the College’s support services to identify and address the students’ academic support needs.
5. Utilize College technology for the delivery of instruction and completion of operational processes; this includes but is not limited to the College’s learning management system, email and calendaring solution, document management system(s), student information system, and employee portals.
6. Meet deadlines, including maintaining and submitting accurate class records, employee records/requests, and other assigned tasks.
7. When applicable, ensure laboratories are appropriately stocked with required supplies and equipment is in safe operating order.
8. Facilitate a positive, student-centered, and professional environment among students, faculty and staff.
