Wake Technical Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach in the Cosmetology Department. Openings may be available now or contacted later after qualifications review.

Positions are on a part-time, temporary basis at various locations and require the ability to maintain records, prepare lessons, and support student success. Applicants should have an Associate's degree, valid Cosmetology and Instructor Licenses, and at least two years of salon and teaching experience.

Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach in the Cosmetology Department. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis at various locations. , To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. • Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
• Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
• Prepares thoroughly for each instructional class period
• Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
• Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
• Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
• Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
• Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
• Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
• Contacts students when class is canceled or postponed
• Locates a substitute instructor for requested time off
• Attends professional development opportunities when possible,

Requirements

• Associate's degree
• Current Cosmetology License and Cosmetology Instructor License
• Two years salon experience in Cosmetology
• Two years teaching experience in Cosmetology
