The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) is a division of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU). Position Description

The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) division seeks non‑tenure track adjunct faculty to teach in the Digital Communication, Public and Media Relations, Corporate and Non‑profit, Health Communication, and Political Communication concentratons. The instructor will teach online or on campus at our Hopkins Bloomberg Center, located at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC. Of particular interest are candidates who have experience teaching and engaging students from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: A successful candidate would ideally be able to begin teaching in August 2022.

• A Master’s degree in Communication or in a relevant field, such as Journalism and Media Studies
• Professional and/or scholarly experience in Communication
• One year of college‑level teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

• A Ph.D. or terminal degree in Communication or in a relevant field, such as Journalism and Media Studies
• The background to teach a wide variety of courses in Communication
• The ability to teach both on campus and online courses

Salary Range

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
