Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and potentially graduate courses in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. Appointments are made on an as-needed basis to maintain an applicant pool for the department.

Candidates must hold a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field. Teaching assignments will align with background and availability, with compensation of $2,450 per lab section up to $9,800 per course.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
• Experience teaching at university level is preferred.
• Ability to develop and deliver laboratory courses and materials.

Responsibilities

• Teach day and/or evening classes for undergraduate (and potential graduate) courses.
• Prepare, deliver and assess course materials, labs and examinations.
• Collaborate with the department on curricula and lab supervision.

Part-time faculty positions are established to maintain an applicant pool for the Department. Appointments will be made on an as-needed basis.

Job Description

Applicants are expected to hold a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field. Qualified candidates will be contacted by the Department. Applications will remain under consideration until the posting closes. There is a potential need for both undergraduate and graduate courses. The goal is to integrate a successful applicant into related activities at WPI with teaching assignments matched with the background and availability of the applicant.

Compensation: $2,450 per lab section up to $9,800 per course
