Qualifications

The position is for evening classes held at the DeKalb Campus. Additional duties include student advising and mentoring, textbook selection, updating curriculum, and developing instructional materials. The instructor will report to the Division Chair of Industrial Technology and Professional Services.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:· Diploma from an accredited postsecondary college· Must hold a current Master Cosmetologist License issued by the Georgia Board of Cosmetology. License must be maintained throughout employment· Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of current instructional techniques and technology· Must demonstrate excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills· A flexible work schedule is necessary, as classes may be taught during day, evening, and Saturday periods· Three or more years, within the last seven, of paid in-field work experience in a salon and teaching experience in a secondary or postsecondary Cosmetology program· Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Products· Strong oral and written communication skills· Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills· Ability to work flexible hours when necessaryThe employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibrations of shears or other equipment used in the functioning of duties.NOTE: All applicants must complete an online application, upload resume, unofficial transcripts, and cover letter.
