Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Adult Education, or Special Needs Education.
  • Wisconsin DPI Secondary Education license in a core academic area or Special Education.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for and facilitate learning in assigned courses; establish a professional and safe learning environment.
  • Use multiple teaching methods and assessments to meet student learning needs.
  • Maintain FERPA-compliant records and submit grades on time.
  • Provide timely verbal and written feedback to students for growth.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and participate in program activities.
  • Assist with recruitment and promote college programs and services.
  • Foster student retention and connect students with campus resources.
  • Maintain relationships with K-12, DOC, community and industry partners.

Job description

Moraine Park Technical College is establishing a candidate pool for potential part-time Adjunct Faculty positions in Adult Education at the Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac, and West Bend campuses.

Position Summary

The roles of Adjunct Faculty are part-time positions with flexible class assignments and varying locations each term. Adjunct Faculty instructors may be assigned to teach at different sites within the Moraine Park District. There is a possibility of teaching during days, evenings, and online sessions. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Adult Education, this position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet college academic and workforce needs. In addition, this position will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner’s classroom and career goals.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must meet one of the following requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Adult Education, or Special Needs Education
  • Wisconsin DPI Secondary Education license in a core academic area (Math, Science, English, Social Studies) or Special Education

Responsibilities
  • Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
  • Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe.
  • Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.
  • May participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
  • Assist with student recruitment and positively promote the College programs and services offered.
  • Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.
  • Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices. Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies. Complete all required training.

Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of teaching experience
  • Experience with digital literacy or educational technology
  • Experience working with secondary, post-secondary, and adult learners
  • Ability to adapt teaching to multiple modalities including in-person, online, video conferencing (VC), and Teams
