Qualifications

  • M.S. in Clinical Psychology, or M.A. in Psychology, or Master's degree in Social Work.
  • CADC certification and IAODAPCA certification required.
  • Knowledge of Brightspace Learning Management System (preferred).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for diverse staff and students.
  • Experience with diverse, multilingual student populations is desirable.

A DJUNCT FACULTY - ADDICTION STUDIES
KENNEDY-KING COLLEGE

Kennedy-King College is currently seeking a part-time Faculty toteach Addiction Studies. If you have passion for teaching andlearning and are committed to the mission of the community college,consider joining our team. The ideal candidate will havedemonstrated success in the classroom by developing and usingeffective teaching strategies that meet students’ diverse needs andengage the student in critical thinking and problem-solving.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Design courses to meet learning outcomes and promote students’active participation in their own learning.
  • Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem solve usingdiscipline-specific thinking strategies.
  • Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments toensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and theattainment of the student learning outcomes for the course.
  • Help students reach their academic, personal and career goalsand foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of peopleand ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveyingconfidence in every student’s ability to learn.
  • Contribute to and provide leadership in the student’s academicand professional communities and promote collaboration and teamworkamong members of these communities.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • M.S. in Clinical Psychology, or M.A. in Psychology, or Master'sdegree in Social Work.
  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) certificationand Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse ProfessionalCertification Association (IAODAPCA) certification required.
  • Knowledge of Brightspace Learning Management System,preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability tocommunicate with diverse group of staff and students required.
  • Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population isdesired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of thecommunity college.

The salary range is $800 - $943/contact hour

The rate paid is in accordance with City Colleges approvedsalary scale.
