Kennedy-King College, part of City Colleges of Chicago, invites applications for a Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty member to teach Social Work. The candidate will design courses, foster critical thinking, and apply diverse teaching strategies to meet student needs.

Requirements include an MS in Clinical Psychology or MS in Social Work/Human Services, CADC preferred, 2–3 years teaching in higher education, 3+ years as a Social Worker, and proficiency with Bright Space or LMS.

FULL-TIME FACULTY TENURE TRACK – SOCIAL WORK
KENNEDY-KING COLLEGE

Kennedy-King College is currently seeking a Full-Time Tenure TrackFaculty to teach Social Work. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design courses to meet learning outcomes and promote students’active participation in their own learning.
  • Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem solve usingdiscipline-specific thinking strategies.
  • Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments toensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and theattainment of the student learning outcomes for the course.
  • Help students reach their academic, personal and career goalsand foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of peopleand ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveyingconfidence in every student’s ability to learn.
  • Contribute to and provide leadership in the student’s academicand professional communities and promote collaboration and teamworkamong members of these communities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • M.S. in Clinical Psychology – OR – Master’s degree in SocialWork or Human Services.
  • CADC (not NADDAC or online testing certification(s)) andI.A.O.D.A.P.C.A. certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience preferably inhigher education
  • Minimum of 3 years or more as a practicing Social Worker andCertified Alcohol Drug Counselor.
  • Knowledge of instructional technology such as Bright Space orLeaning Management Systems preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability tocommunicate with diverse group of staff and students required.
  • Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population isdesired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of thecommunity college.

The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $65,000.

Offered salary will be determined by the respective collectivebargaining agreement and applicant's education.
