Job summary

Qualifications

ADJUNCT LECTURER (NON-UNION) - SOCIAL SERVICE

KENNEDY-KING COLLEGE

Kennedy-King College is seeking a Social Service Lecturer(Non-Union). The lecturer will facilitate courses, counselstudents, prepare lectures, grade assignments, and participate incommittees that support the college community. The ideal candidatewill have demonstrated success in the classroom by developing andusing effective teaching strategies that meet students’ diverseneeds and engage the student in critical thinking andproblem-solving.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Design courses to meet learning outcomes and promote students’active participation in their own learning.
• Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem solve usingdiscipline-specific thinking strategies.
• Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments toensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and theattainment of the student learning outcomes for the course.
• Help students reach their academic, personal and career goalsand foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of peopleand ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveyingconfidence in every student’s ability to learn.
• Contribute to and provide leadership in the student’s academicand professional communities and promote collaboration and teamworkamong members of these communities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• M.S.W. or M.A. in Social Work with relevant experience inGerontology OR A Master's in Social Work with an IAODAPCAcertification in addition to (CADC).
• Two years of high education teaching experience preferred.
• Proficiency in D2L Bright Space or Learning Management Systems,Zoom, Microsoft Office.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Day and evening availability.

The salary range is $800 - $943/contact hour

The rate paid is in accordance with City Colleges approvedsalary scale.
