MCPHS in Boston seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences for the Acupuncture program. The selected candidate will teach Acupuncture Channels and Points I on the Boston campus for Fall 2026, with in-person instruction and Saturday sessions.

The ideal candidate will have subject matter expertise for on-site teaching and module coordination, including assessments and grading.

Qualifications

  • Master of Acupuncture or Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, doctoral degree preferred.
  • Active Massachusetts acupuncture license
  • Minimum of five years clinical practice in the application of acupuncture point functions and channel theory
  • Commitment to graduate education and student success
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience teaching online strongly preferred
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with students and administration/staff

Responsibilities

  • Deliver didactic and practical instruction in person.
  • Use the Blackboard LMS to support learning.
  • Provide students with periodic assessments of progress toward course outcomes.
  • Apply grading policies fairly and consistently.
  • Develop and adhere to the course syllabus per MCPHS/NESA format.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Dean or Associate Dean.

Adjunct Faculty – Acupuncture – Acupuncture Channels and Points

Description

The New England School of Acupuncture seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and evaluation for the acupuncture program. The selected candidate will bring subject matter expertise to the responsibilities of on site, in person teaching of Acupuncture Channels and Points I in the fall 2026 semester on the Boston campus. This course examines and evaluates the acupuncture channels, including the primary acupuncture points along the channels. Students will evaluate the anatomical locations, functions, and clinical significance of each point, including extra points. The course will meet Saturday 10:30am-2:30pm. The ideal candidate will teach Acupuncture Channels and Points I-III in the fall, spring and summer semesters.

Deliverdidactic and practical instruction in person and use the online Learning Management System Blackboard®Provide an engaging active learning environment for studentsProvide students with periodic assessments of their progress toward meeting course learning outcomes, which demonstrate clinical applications of concepts coveredApply grading policies fairly and consistentlyDevelop and adhere to the course syllabus per the NESA/MCPHS format, which includes course description, learning outcomes, attendance policy in line with that of MCPHS, and assessment criteria, including assignment deliverables and timelinesAdditional responsibilities may be assigned by the Dean or Associate Dean

Compensation

The pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work.

Hiring Range: $5900
