Job summary

Northern State University's School of Business invites applications for part-time adjunct accounting instructors to meet current and future teaching needs. We offer online and in-person instruction with assignments based on departmental needs, instructor qualifications, and course availability.

Teaching candidates should hold a Master’s in accounting (or related field with accounting emphasis) and have relevant accounting experience.

Qualifications

• Required Education and Experience: Master's degree in accounting, or master's in business administration or related field with emphasis in accounting from an accredited institution
• Academic preparation and/or professional experience in accounting appropriate to the course(s) to be taught.
• Candidates with substantial professional accounting experience are encouraged to apply, including those whose graduate degree is in a related business discipline.

Responsibilities

• Teach accounting courses online or in-person per department needs.
• Assignments based on departmental needs, instructor qualifications, and course availability.
• Identify accounting courses and instructional formats for which you are qualified and interested in teaching.

We are seeking qualified candidates for both online and in-person instruction, with assignments based on departmental needs, instructor qualifications, and course availability.

Potential teaching assignments include:

• Principles of Accounting I (ACCT 210)
• Principles of Accounting II (ACCT 211)
• Intermediate Accounting I (ACCT 310)
• Intermediate Accounting II (ACCT 311)
• Accounting Systems (ACCT 360)
• Income Tax Accounting (ACCT 430)

Teaching assignments will be made on current and future departmental needs. Applicants are encouraged to identify the accounting courses and instructional formats for which they are qualified and interested in teaching.

Required Education and Experience:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous teaching experience in higher education, includingexperience teaching online, adult, or non-traditionallearners
• Relevant professional certifications, such as CPA, CIA, CISA, orCFE
• Current professional experience or demonstrated expertise in oneor more of the accounting areas from the courses listed above
