Seminole State College of Florida is seeking adjunct faculty to teach assigned courses, develop syllabi, deliver instruction, and assess student work. You will provide timely feedback and engage in professional development while maintaining open communication with students and colleagues.
The role supports curriculum improvement efforts and requires use of CANVAS and flexible delivery methods to promote student success across campus locations.
Adjunct Faculty are responsible for teaching assigned courses,which includes developing and posting syllabi, preparing anddelivering instruction, designing assignments and assessments,grading student work, and providing timely, constructive feedback.In addition, Adjunct Faculty are expected to engage in professionaldevelopment, effectively utilize the College’s Online LearningManagement System (CANVAS), and maintain open communication withstudents, colleagues, and supervisors. They may also contribute tocurriculum improvement efforts aimed at enhancing studentsuccess.
The responsibility of Adjunct Faculty is to teach classes asassigned. Duties related to the teaching of a course include, but are not limited to, the following types of activities:
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
Teaching experience and professional certification.

Compensation & Support
Adjunct faculty are paid according to Seminole State College’s Non-Bargaining Unit Salary Schedule, based on theinstructor’s highest degree earned.

Finalists and individuals recommended for employment at Seminole State College must reside in the State of Florida at thetime of hire and may be subject to background investigations and fingerprinting in compliance with Florida Statute 1001.64; and Seminole State College Policy 1.020; 2.020. Criminal background checks and fingerprinting will be conducted for all new employees, and for rehired employees who have had a break in service for one year or more. The Office of Human Resources will determine which background checks shall be conducted for each position, based upon its review of job descriptions and the responsibilities of the position.
