Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an online Fire Science educator to teach undergraduate courses asynchronously. You will design engaging, career-relevant content and promote critical thinking.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Fire Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional experience in fire service or emergency management.
• Experience teaching adult learners in professional, academic, or workforce settings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to student success and inclusive teaching practices.
• Preferred: experience teaching online and leadership roles in public safety organizations.
• Preferred: relevant professional certifications (e.g., Fire Officer, Executive Fire Officer, Certified Emergency Manager, FEMA/NIMS).

• Professional experience in fire service, emergency services, emergency management, public safety, or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to teach or train adult learners in professional, academic, or workforce settings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to student success and inclusive teaching practices
• Prior experience teaching college-level Fire Science or Emergency Services courses, particularly in an online environment (Preferred)
• Experience working with diverse and/or non-traditional student populations (Preferred)
• Current or former leadership experience within fire, EMS, emergency management, or public safety organizations (Preferred)
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Fire Officer, Executive Fire Officer, Certified Emergency Manager, FEMA/ICS/NIMS credentials) (Preferred)
• Experience using learning management systems and online instructional technologies (Preferred)
